For Laser Show Approval - By Us & Your Local Jurisdiction
  • For our approval, and to submit for any applicable permit, we will need the answers to the following:
  • Does the venue allow haze? Please get this in writing from the location.
  • How high is the ceiling? It must be over 10ft from the ground of the highest standing spot — higher if you anticipate people on shoulders.
  • Are there any obstructions in the beam's path? E.g chandeliers, mirror ball, pillars, etc.? On the floor plan, please mark where these are located with their height.
  • What material is the designated beam termination area? E.g. Brick, non-flammable drywall with paint, etc. We can also add special drape to terminate the beams if there are windows or a non-suitable surface.
  • The Location's contact information
  • A floor plan of the room that contain where the lasers will be (usually by talent), and the termination area of the laser beams (straight across from their projection.
  • For our approval, and to submit for any applicable permit, we will need the answers to the following:
  • Illinois: We have a special permit with the state of IL and can perform high-powered lasers at any suitable location. âžš 10 days notice of a laser show, to the state, is required in Illinois.
  • Wisconsin: There are currently no laser laws that require special permitting. Just our FDA variance at the federal level.
  • Indiana: There are currently no laser laws that require special permitting. Just our FDA variance at the federal level.
  • Ohio: Outside of Cleveland, there are currently no laser laws that require special permitting. Just our FDA variance at the federal level. Cleveland does have a special permit required.
  • New York: There is a permit required per projector, and costs roughly $600 (2024 rate) per projector usage.
  • Massachusetts: A permit is required by the state and doesn't cost anything. For the permit, there must be an LSO on-site, anytime the laser show is on — even during testing.
  • Other states typically do not have any special requirements, but will be reviewed on a per-city basis when we are apprised of the location.
